What's the big deal with ePortfolios? Creativity! Ownership! Voice! Authenticity!

Students own their ePortfolio, if they want to. When initially thinking about the topic of ePortfolios I saw it as something I had to do for a class assignment. I had a rubric, there were projects to complete, and then I put them on a platform for a grade. As I continue to reflect and go through my site I found myself taking more ownership of what was going onto my platform. I thought, why do all this work just for a grade when I could make it something I can eventually use in my current job or my future jobs as an educational technology leader. 

I have the opportunity to demonstrate my learning, build connections, and carry the learning and knowledge beyond just this program at Lamar University. I can choose to take ownership and become a life long learner. Meaningful connections come through reflection.
